Historic, Family-Owned Legacy Business Pivots From Pain Points to Profitability
This client’s father was a bit of a “local celebrity” known for his iconic local restaurant. As he got closer to retirement age, however, the responsibility fell squarely upon his kids to keep the family legacy afloat. During COVID, they experienced steep reductions in sales, staff departures, mandate restrictions and extreme supply chain challenges. Because this restaurant’s sauce and tapenade sides were extremely popular, we discussed formulating the family’s unique recipes for a potential packaged foodline.
Before that could happen, however, the business needed a complete overhaul. We discussed updates to their website, branding/logo design and packaging needed for bottling/canning of the sauces for maximum shelf life. Within 6mos, they were operating with a new website, complete with online ordering component, as well as a new branding/logo for labels and t-shirts. Within a few short months, they have progressed with conducting deeper digs, month by month, into P&L financials in order to refine numbers and revise bloated labor spends to get the establishment back on track.
